Finished 16 oz double wick candle poured for eighty burn hours

Dual-flame calibrated formulation hand poured in Austin, Texas. Hand poured candles austin patrons and fragrance studios rely on for broad room diffusion and stable thermal equilibrium.

Wide-diameter vessels fail when single wicks tunnel down the center, leaving half the wax mass wasted on cold glass. Our 16 oz formulation pairs an 88mm annealed clear tumbler with two calibrated Series 2 cotton flat braids spaced exactly 28mm apart. Both flames join melt pools within forty-five minutes.

Formulation parameters and physical datasheet

Every specification row reflects bench measurements taken across five prototype test cycles at our Barton Springs Road workshop.

Texas state business registration and authentic manufacturer supply invoices available upon written request for commercial patrons.

Four-stage bench pouring and curing protocol

Every 16 oz candle follows an immutable workshop sequence from raw flakes to final burn test.

Stage 1: Melting & Sizing Raw soy wax golden flakes are melted in stainless double boilers to 185°F. Vessels are pre-heated to 105°F to eliminate thermal shock and air pockets along the clear glass wall.
Stage 2: Compounding Phthalate-free fragrance oil is added at precisely 180°F. The batch is stirred gently by hand with brass paddles for two minutes to bind aroma compounds uniformly without whipping air bubbles into the melt.
Stage 3: Dual Wick Centering Two cotton wicks are secured to the vessel floor using heat-resistant adhesive tabs. Custom steel dual-wick tension bars hold both strands vertical at 28mm spacing while wax cools from 135°F.
Stage 4: Fourteen-Day Cure Candles rest in dark, climate-controlled curing racks at 68–72°F for fourteen full days. This allows the vegetable triglycerides to form a uniform crystal lattice that burns cleanly without smoking.

Technical considerations and selection constraints

We state the operational limits plainly so you can decide if the 16 oz profile matches your space.

Room Footprint Designed for spaces exceeding 350 square feet. The twin flames produce double the thermal throw of standard containers; in a small powder room the scent volume will overpower the air volume. For compact rooms, select our Finished 9 oz single wick candle ($28 USD).
First Burn Discipline Requires a continuous initial burn of three hours to allow the twin melt pools to merge edge-to-edge. Extinguishing the flame before three hours causes early ring tunneling that cannot be reversed without heat-gun intervention.
Wick Maintenance Both wicks must be trimmed to 1/4 inch before every lighting session. Carbon mushroom caps form on untrimmed braided wicks, leading to flickering and minor soot generation on the glass rim. Review our Cure science and burn testing guide for maintenance protocols.
Component Supply Link Makers blending their own custom versions can source identical heavy clear tumblers, soy wax flakes, and calibrated cotton wicks directly through our component catalog.
